There are some pathing differences, and FoW has a slightly longer update time, but none of these are major issues. But in dota 1 it may take him a moment to get his hero moving in the right direction, again due to latency. For instance, if I juke around a tree, in dota 2 my opponent can react instantly when he sees me going around the opposite side he expects. I think the only reason why it may seem that way is because you have less control over your character due to pathing and latency. This isn't an engine difference how ever, it's just a network difference. In addition, there's no real turn animation, so it'll look difference. For instance, your right click behind you, and there is a slight delay before your character starts turning. Turn rates aren't longer, but you may feel latency a bit more. However, aside from visual update times, I don't know about the other things you said. Towers take much longer to push down, too, because creeps cannot easily surround them. Units bump into each other all the time, and it can make laning and pushing feel WAY different. For me, the biggest difference between dota 1 and 2 is the pathing.
